Christmas ready

The tree is up,  elf is on a shelf, advent calendar ready - we are in the full swing of the season!

Our makeshift advent calendar is less then perfect, barely pretty really,  and that is ok. I have let go of my desire to tinker and make it perfect, because to my little ones, it is just how it should be. We have filled each day with activities, such as "Write a letter to Santa", "Decorate our Christmas tree", "Go for a drive and look at Christmas lights", "Get a gift for a giving tree" etc.

This morning, I am reading the letters written so carefully to Santa and chuckling to myself every time.

What great ages these little ones of mine are, enjoying the season just as it should be, excited for every moment.

Ahhhh, and breathe....

Christmas came with a beautiful snowstorm and made this holiday that much more perfect. It came at the most perfect time, just when we were all winding down from the Christmas rush, the peacefulness is exactly what I craved.

After sticking his tongue in the snow, Frankie asked me to taste it - "It's soooo yummy mommy, you HAVE to try it!"

Hot cocoa after playing in the snow

Getting cozy on Christmas morning with her new brown bear brown bear blanket.

Saying, "The Cat in the Hat!!! Look Daddy!!!"

Christmas Eve Morning, quiet and untouched....

When I look at these photos, I truly have peace in my heart.....

and am thankful most of all for the little things in my life.....

May we all have a blessed 2011........
