A happy corner

We've put this space together for Frankie in the corner of his bedroom. After the transition to a new loft bed, he was spending a good amount of playtime in his room, playing with army men, reading in his chair under his loft, having some great quiet time. I figured I should seize the moment and implement a writing space, complete with desk and accouterments! I'm very excited about it - really because he's been spending much more time WRITING and "working on my letters" as he likes to say.

I have been inspired by all of the recent blog postings about this book, as well as the start of a new school year. The author, Mariah Bruehl, has such wonderful ideas for writing spaces for kids.

This wall pocket from IKEA is a great, inexpensive way to store paper, envelopes and other writing/crafting material.
