Slouchy Autumn

Yes, another hat....

This one is for a friend of mine, I am tempted to keep it...but I won't. I'll just wear it for a day or two!

This is the Autumn hat by Jane Richmond. You could find the pattern here or on Ravelry. I used wool ease thick and quick in Spice. I'm almost done with some chunky mittens to go with it, there's enough in the skein to make the hat AND one mitten. Very efficient. I made this hat an inch longer than the pattern called for, so that it would be a bit more slouchy and I love the result.

That's exactly what this hat makes me feel like doing - drinking something warm and cozy! Check it out, it's a great pattern, and I think will make a great gift too.

more knitted hats!

We went ice skating today with my sister and her two little ones, and I was happy to see that they were wearing the Christmas gifts that I had knitted up for them! I had made this owly hat for a friend's baby, and loved the quick pattern so much that I made it for my 2year old nephew too.

You could find the pattern (Ollie Owl Hat) by Nona Davenport here or on Ravelry.

Beautiful winter day....

Elena's sporting a penguin hat that my mom in law gave her for Christmas.

The two little ones are wondering who has the right idea here, they sit on the side eating their snack, as the older ones try to ice skate.

Frankie did great, though. Despite many falls, he loved it and wants to go again.

my nephew :)

Back to the knitted stuff -  above is the Jane hat, by Jane Richmond, it's supposed to be a bit more slouchy. The next time I make it, I will make it a little bit longer, but my sis loves it.

It is an easy eyelet pattern, that gives the look of cables, but without actually having to do cable knitting. You could find the pattern on Ravelry or here.

I have an affinity for knitted hats for some reason, they're so easy and so satisfying. You could whip one up in a night or two!
