thinking about things

Recently, I've been on a self/home improvement kick. Not the kind of home improvement that requires breaking down walls or construction, but the kind that helps our little family and home run a bit smoother. I've always been a sucker for tips on self betterment and I had been looking for something to get me out of a rut. I haven't felt the motivation to get from my thoughts (want to make a quilt) to action (get my fabric together and start sewing!) I had been feeling a bit scattered and disorganized, leading me to feel irritated and without a sense of control to my day.

I picked up this book on Amazon, after reading about it on the author's blog and felt like it was the kick in the beeee-hind that I needed.

I found some great happy blogs, which I think, offer such basic but perspective altering tips. Over at zenhabits.net I've been repeating the blog's subtitle as a daily mantra since I've read it -
“Smile, breath, and go slowly.”

I'm not sure if the birds singing or the smell in the air that tells me that spring is coming has helped too, but I am feeling a bit more inspired to do and make something....stay tuned....and check out these links, they may inspire you too!
