Recent Projects - Kids clothes week challenge

Last week, I was perusing through the many blogs that feature beautiful handcrafted and sewn work and found elsie marley. She featured a kids clothes week challenge which finished up at the end of last week. The work that readers submitted were awesome, and sssseeewwww inspiring (ha!)! She challenges sewers, beginner or avid seamstress, to sew for an hour a week - children's garments.  When I found her blog last week, I was wishing I could get my act together to be a part of it.

Anyway, a couple of days behind, here I am - doing my hour (or more) nightly of kids clothes sewing. I'm thankful for the inspiration. Here's what I've done the past two weeks or so -

Little Cap Pattern - by Leila and Ben
Of course, my little guy won't wear this hat that I made for his 4th birthday, and since the boy didn't want to try it on, the girl didn't either.
I mean, how could you pass up a Thomas the train conductor's looking hat????
Friends, family - any of your little people want this hat?? Many attempts have been made on my part, but it is just not loved like I hoped it would be. And, it's soooooooo cute....sigh...

Below is a reversible John John - I saw the tutorial on the Prudent Baby site here and decided to try to make it fall/wintery for my 2y/o nephew. It's reversible - again with that Thomas the Train material on the inside (I clearly have a ton of that stuff) and this adorable 21 Wale Cool Corduroy Owl fabric in blue from Fabric.com on the outside.

I'm hoping to make it again with snaps in the legs to make diaper changes/ potty training a bit easier.

Below: These pants were made late last week as well and have been worn oh, 4-5 times already. These are a hit. The little girl loves them, thankfully  - I will get a picture of her in them, but for now - they have been pulled out of the dryer for photographing reasons:

Pants are super easy to make, so when the kids ask me to make them something, that's what I tend to gravitate towards. I should really expand my repertoire. I first started making shorts over the summer and used this tutorial to learn how. This Granny's attic patchwork fabric is so soft. Great for summer or fall wear.

Below: Another Simplicity jumper, reversible, made for a friend's soon to be 2y/o daughter.
